• Oh, Cindy, how I loved you

Cindy and Dorothy – the two defining women of my childhood, for sure. I am not one to pine away for the past and how it was so much better from a social or economic standpoint — but I do have to say, I think that our kids have lost something special in that they can now watch movies over and over on demand. When Cindy and Dorothy and It’s a Wonderful Life were only on once a year — oh my gosh, what anticipation!

I am so surprised to see that YouTube has a clip from this particular version of Cinderella, the Rogers and Hammerstein one. I saw this version on television back in 1965 when it first aired, but have not seen it since. That’s a seventeen year old Lesley Ann Warren playing Cinderella. I had always heard that her first husband, Jon Peters, bought the rights to it in an effort to hide it and reverse her Disneyesque image. It was not available until quite recently, thoguh I do see that it is now out on DVD. It is a childhood favorite of mine.
