Oh my goodness, this vintage kitchen ceiling fixture is so Jane Jetson, my head is spinning. The retractable ceiling light fixture in my kitchen is from the same company, I think — the pointy switch to turn it on (three-way control) is identical.
Guys, it just doesn’t get any better than this.

This is so unusual, I have never seen anything like this before! I wonder if it works with all light fittings? How expensive is it?
After seeing Pam’s listings for various retractable lights, I started searching for one that would work in my dining room. I found one on eBay, and I’m hoping my dear dear husband can install it this weekend. It’s huge and I love the little mosaic designs on it. I think you can still see the photo here:
