Kitchen Flooring
What kind of flooring was used in mid century kitchens? Kitchens after World War II usually had resilient flooring -- tiles or continuous sheets made from vinyl or vinyl composites. Designs tended to mimic linoleum (more common in early 20th century), which often mimicked marble. Tile floors were another choice, though Mrs. America increasingly favored the newest, easier-to-clean and softer-underfoot resilient floors. Be aware, there can be environmental and safety hazards in old flooring, its layers, adhesives, etc., so be sure to Be Safe/Renovate Safe.
