It is even trippier in person. I always try to make a pilgrimage when the wisteria is in bloom, it's incredible year after year. The last people who owned it restored it well. I live about 5 minutes away and probably have more photos or would be glad to run by and take any extra photos you might want. It's hard to capture just how magnificent the wisteria is. Plus there's a water element throughout, I seem to remember you have to walk over a little waterway to reach the front door. And you can see inside the pool if you're in the downstairs tiki basement. Several of the walls are suspended mahogany with backlighting... lots of little mosaic steps and details inside and out. The link above to the Dallas Morning News shows it the best. It was commissioned by Eddie Parker and the architect was Bruce Goff. I think it took 5-6 years to build. I was glad to see it here! If the architect is still alive, or the builder is still around, Pam, you should somehow contact them and ask them to comment on their work.
