Yummy vintage Philco range for sale in Kalamazoo

by Pam Kueber on October 28, 2008

Michigan Tom sends this great Philco stove in… Look at the cool square-ish chrome plates around each burner – and the way that the handle bridges both sections. Cool – and just $45! Snap it up before Elvis does!!!

Heres a really nice stove in my neighborhood for a nice price (I believe this is the one with the built-in deep fryer, left rear) It’s a smidge too vintage for my mid-mod place… But heres the link- http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/hsh/894335306.html

Hi Michigan Tom,

That’s a great stove you found. I am partial, having the identical stove in my home. The back left burner drops vertically and recieves a round pot that warms soups, cooks beans, etc. Sorry to respond so late but I posted to the website and didn’t hear back…

I have a Philco stove very similar to the one shown. My husband’s parents bought it new in 1955 when they bought their home. When they moved to a retirement home, we took the stove and use it to this day. One of the differences I see is that ours has rounded chrome plates around the burners and the burner controls are all on the right, with the oven controls on the left. I love the stove and plan on using it until it quits. It was fun to find one almost like mine.

My Philco is a 1954, Unfortunately the big burner does not work. Do you know where I can pick up a burner?
