A vintage Beauty Queen cabinet label – Retropink57’s contest entry

retropink-beauty-queen.JPGRetropink57’s Found Objects Found Art contest entry…

Hi Pam

I’m sure many retroreaders will recognize this, but for those who don’t,
this little piece of chrome artwork is off of a Beauty Queen brand metal
kitchen cabinet that held a porcelain enamel double sink with drain
boards.  I love this thing! I display it with my other vintage kitchen
items and it makes my happy every time I look at it.  There’s something
about it’s fancy script, the fact that it’s chrome and just the words
‘beauty queen’ alone that delight the heck out of me.  Also…it didn’t
cost a dime because it was found half-buried in gravel rock next to a
dumpster!

As cool as it is in your kitchen, I think I’d put it by my bathroom mirror to be a little morale-booster first thing in the morning! Beauty Queen, indeed! My hubby thought I was so weird to keep the logo off the Holly house furnace we had to replace in our first house. I love being here among people who get it!!

I recently bought a house that has a whole kitchen full of the Pink Beauty Queen metal cabinets from the 50’s. If you know anyone who is interested I am looking to sell!
