Do you need a new faucet for your vintage bathroom sink? TodayI happily add a third alternative to my short list of recommendations. It’s this simple Gerber 4″ lav. Nice lines, nice faucet handles. Also a nice one here with fluted handles. Hurray.
Update: Nathan went looking for this and Gerber eliminated the image from their catalog. However, it IS still available. Here is what Nathan reports – MANY THANKS, Nathan!
Hey Pam,
I was able to track down that particular faucet that you had on your site. I contacted Gerber, and they gave me the part number. I then tried to find it locally here in Abq, but that was a dead end. So, I then resorted to shopping on the internets (d’oh), and found it here: [link now gone - search for model number online, folks - Pam]
I ordered 3 of them

Thanks again, and I’ve bookmarked your site

Everyone wants better slide shows…and many want to see more midcentury furniture lines. Today I accomplish the start of both with my new NextGEN photo gallery tool. So much easier for me to use – so expect more photos and illustration galleries to come! Click on the image to move the show forward – there are 19 images. (Next, I’ll try to figure out how to add arrows.)

I have been reading everyone’s suggestions for updates to the blog – many thanks! – and keep them coming.

I already was on course to add many more photo galleries – and I get my fancy gallery tool and tutorial later today.

Meanwhile, I could not hold off from showing this delicious 1961 eye candy – photos from Kentile and Congoleum Nairn ads during the year.

Aren’t these so…70s? It is SO INTERESTING, when you start wading through periodicals, that so many trends were foreshadowed a good 8-10 years before they were adopted by the masses and entered our collective memories now active today. I swear, our 1971 split level had features just like those here. I could be wrong. I need to study the 60s and 70s more. That’s coming, too.

FABULOUS!

These mint-in-box pink flamingo wall tiles from the Mosaic Tile Company may well be the most wonderful thing I have ever seen. They are for sale now at BungalowBill.com. Worth every penny of the $2,300 price. Here is what Bill says on his site: This HUGE panel by the Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville Ohio [...]

Hannah scored big time on ebay recently with this New Old Stock swag light kit — 42 little glass balls combine to create a dazzling grape cluster light. Just imagine the thrill. Hannah, who paid $54 for this treasure, writes: Hi Pam, I’m sorta excited about you showcasing my grape lamp kit! My 15 minutes of fame [...]

Here’s a mid century woddity (wonderful oddity) spotted by lauramoon and posted on the Forum: A drop in range with the electric burners on two tiers. I think this is quite a handy idea! For sale in Madison, Wisconsin $200.

I am super fascinated by the archaic features and fixtures of midcentury houses…. Things that have been superseded by something more modern, or which simply faded from fashion. Quick! We better get them on the blog fast, so’s we don’t forget them. Stuff like hudee rings, and push-button plumbing, and appliance centers, and today: Dovecotes [...]

Golly be — it’s not a “GE Patio Cart”, it’s a “GE Partio Cart.” Just as 52PostnBeam pointed out this amazing combination barbeque-rotisserie-oven-stovetop-prep surface-umbrella-on-wheels for sale on our Forum a while back, she also recently pointed to another one of these wonderful oddities — woddities — for sale out west and realized and pointed out [...]
