Hello Tom,

Great piece and great find. I live out here in Covina, Ca. I frequent thrift shops to find retro and mid-century furniture and I found a blonde- veneered piece that is similar to yours but it plays 45’s instead of 12″s. Its a firestone too! I do not know the back story, but I know it came from a great home because it is in mint condition, still works, and like yours, the only thing that shows its age is the fabric that covers the speakers.

That’s a beautiful set Tom! It has the same changer that my Stromberg Carlson hi-fi radio phono has. The changer was made by Voice Of Music for many different electronics companies, up until the late ’70s. Voice Of Music of course also made their own record player systems and stereo sets. You will be enjoying that for years to come!

What a beauty, Tom! And I love the parts of the story you filled in yourself, imagining the family using the Hi-Fi. How nice that you will treasure this just as the family obviously did.
