Kitchens – Countertops

In my recent story about authentic 1950s 1960s and 1970s kitchen remodeling products still made today, I spotlighted Elkay Lustertone stainless steel drainboard sinks — made back in the day and still available today. Over the past year, I’ve been in touch with a reader who was preparing to install a new Elkay sink top [...]

My local Re-Store was offering some maple flooring from bowling alley – and some handy homeowner re-purposed it into the most excellent countertop. Isn’t it great?! …Right up there with the Teacups Chandelier we looked at a while ago. Related Posts Basement bowling alley in 1962 Michigan time capsule house for sale — heaven! What [...]

UPDATE (Oct 2011): Click over to –> this story to get an update on all three sources for boomerang laminate. In wake of the news that Formica is discontinuing, or has discontinued, two shades of our beloved boomerang laminate, I started receiving reports from readers of other discontinuations. I checked with the super duper helpful [...]

Wow, does anyone know about countertops like these? Becky recently bought a time capsule and her french provincial kitchen (I’d call it) includes these countertops. Reminds me of these Fritz floor tiles. Anyone work with this back in the day who knows? Kind of, an early-days version of Silestone or the other composite-quartz countertops sold [...]

I have been on a tear, of late, researching laminates. Considering how Greige and Granite-y 99% of what’s out there is, I want to provide Retro Renovators with the broadest researched selection possible of designs that have a more historical, retro appeal. After I learned that Formica’s butcher block laminate has been in production since [...]

1960s vintage woven wood shades – and an amazing Hollywood Regency time capsule
3 ways to recreate a vintage style roller shade
Where to find a shade for my vintage light – a round ceiling fixture?

Do you sell the blind pictured? 60′s orange vintage woven wood valance and shade?
Kathie, I just googled vintage woven wooden blinds and this picture was the only one that popped up.
I just moved into a 1964 (real vintage) mobile home. I have 3 large shades very similiar (minus the pom poms, but they could be added) to the ones pictured. They are wood with fiesta colors (red, yellow, orange, lime green). I will be opening a vintage store online very soon and was going to sell them.
If you are interested, email me back and I will take pictures to send you.
Thank you.

fran, no one can see your email address here… if you’d like to sell the blinds, post them on our forum: http://retrorenovation.com/forum. good luck
Kathie,
If you read back at the original post, you’ll see that the blinds were seen in a house that was having an estate sale. In general, the stuff pictured by Pam on this site isn’t for sale by her. Sometimes she posts about stuff up for auction on eBay or things for sale on other sites, but that will be labelled thus.
