I had to wait so long for my Barbie, I think I was at least ten or so when I finally got one. But I loved her, and my sis and I would play Barbies often.
Pam, since all of us 50-somethings are now enjoying our “patina”, I want to know Barbie’s secret to flawless skin!

I had the whole family-Barbie (black bubble cut), Ken (red flat top), Midge (red flip) and Skipper (long blond). I wish I would have kept them. I got Barbie in 1960, the rest came later. Remember the early Barbies wore eyeliner and turquoise eyeshadow? LOL!

Happy Birthday Barbie! I still have my original (circa 1962) bubble-cut brunette Barbie, with the box and all the cool 60s clothes. I always wanted the blonde pony tail Barbie, but was “stuck” with the bubble cut one that I got for Christmas. I finally bought a retro reproduction blonde pony tail Barbie in the 80s. haha. And, I still have every shoe and comb. I was a type A kid.
