My email sent to Allison:

My sympathies on the divorce.
Do you have a photo of the set? Is it marked Heywood Wakefield?
If it is in good condition, I would advise contacting some of the resale shops here in PS that specialize in Mid-Century Modern furniture. You'd get a great deal more money for it that way, even after paying the sale commission. You might also try calling the "111 Antiques Mall" and ask if any dealer there might be interested in buying it. Craigslist is also an option.
If it is true HW furniture and in good condition, it may be quite valuable in the local market. You really need to find out what it might be worth before you try to sell it. Send me some photos if you can, and I will be happy to help any way I can.

Seeking new home for HW bedroom set -
can Palm Springs Stephan advise on whether advertising in the PS newspaper would be the best start to selling a nice-condition local set with 2 wave-front dressers (a 9-drawer and a 4-drawer with glass top) and two twin headboards that my grandfather bolted together to support a king mattress? I am probably going to lose my house (divorce) and it'd be a shame to put my gradma's lovely set into a dusty storage unit if I have to downgrade to a tiny apt for who-knows-how-long. I'll be sad to lose them but this is reality, and I can't keep it all.

Stephan, if you can advise, please email me at threadsoffancy [at] hotmail {dot} com. I live 40 miles from Palm Springs and could deliver.

Yes, they are, Pam!! And my friend the museum exhibit designer has given them the "color coordinator's stamp of approval" regarding how they will work with my furniture and wall colors. I'm a bit color blind and notorious for making hideous color choices, so I always seek approval for my selections .......
