Your kitchen is wonderful! I have a white 1952 Crosley stove in my house in Atlanta, GA with original 1953 painted wooden cabinets, and Youngstown Kitchen by Mullins 1952 cabinets in my house in Montgomery, AL (the original cabinets in my childhood home), with stainless steel new appliances. I love both of my kitchens.

Garth, The kitchen looks wonderful!!! I am the soda blaster that did the cabinets for you. We have a lot of projects come through our shop but we never get to see the finished results. It is so nice to see what can be done when someone takes the time to do it right. The time, effort and research you put in to this project is commendable and it shows! As far as powder coating after soda blasting, you are right, many powder coaters simply don’t know how to clean the items properly and end up having problems. Should anyone reading this decide to soda blast something and take it to a powder coater, simply have the powder coater call the soda blaster for proper cleaning instructions, many now carry a product called After Blast Solutions made to remove all traces of the soda. If cleaned correctly there should be no issues with powder coating after soda blasting. Again, nice job on the cabinets!

Garth- your kitchen is pretty much what I want my "After" pictures to look like! I found your post after walking down the exact same roads you had, and coming to the same conclusions about powdercoating/autopainting/electrostaticpainting; it was great to have my findings validated. We're going with the stainless countertops, too. I'm going to ask my electrostatic paint guy about soda blasting. I can't wait to have my kitchen look as good as yours!
