minnetonka-moccasins-vintage-thunderbird

thunderbirdIn the midst of trying to find additional examples of authentic reproduction baubles and bling, I realized I have some on my very own dancin’ feet: Minnetonka Moccasins. There are many models available today, but I have the classic Thunderbirds just like these, and they are super duper comfy for wearing around the house.  Here’s what the Minnetonka website says, and I believe it – I am sure I brought these home from road trips.

Since their inception in 1946, Minnetonka Moccasin has shaped the moccasin’s place in history. Following World War II, Americans took to the highways to discover its natural beauty. Visiting resorts and souvenir shops, they brought Minnetonka moccasins home to the new American suburbs. They soon became casual classics.

I love those. It doesn’t seem like you can order from the website though. I recently bought some Minnetonka leather flip flops for the summer at DSW. :-)
