In the midst of trying to find additional examples of authentic reproduction baubles and bling, I realized I have some on my very own dancin’ feet: Minnetonka Moccasins. There are many models available today, but I have the classic Thunderbirds just like these, and they are super duper comfy for wearing around the house. Here’s what the Minnetonka website says, and I believe it – I am sure I brought these home from road trips.
Since their inception in 1946, Minnetonka Moccasin has shaped the moccasin’s place in history. Following World War II, Americans took to the highways to discover its natural beauty. Visiting resorts and souvenir shops, they brought Minnetonka moccasins home to the new American suburbs. They soon became casual classics.

The minnetonka moccasins are not made in the USA they are made iffshore in the Dominican Republic of the Venezualin coast. They charge us tripple the price for what it costs to make

I got engaged in June 1987 wearing a pair of red Minnetonka moccasins in front of Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. After I said, “Yes” the wind blew, and we were dosed with water. We took it as a blessing. We will celebrate 25 years of love next month. Girls, look for a guy who shares your great sense of design. You’ll never regret it.

Oh, I wore these moccasins in the 1960s–all the time! We got them ‘up north’ in MI.

I love those. It doesn’t seem like you can order from the website though. I recently bought some Minnetonka leather flip flops for the summer at DSW. 🙂
