Following yesterday’s Mad Men Yourself, I went to check whether Yearbook Yourself was back online yet – and it is, relaunched just last week. Yearbook Yourself lets you upload a photo (old or new) then lets you fiddle with it to fit into prototypical yearbook looks over 40 continuous years … from 1950 to 1990. Above is 2008 me yearbooked into 1952, 1960 and 1964. Oh my goodness, this one is guaranteed to waste lots and lots of time. YearbookYourself.com

Kitchens – Countertops

I’ve written before about the Ralph Sr. and Sunny Wilson House in Temple, Texas – an amazing showcase of the innovative use of laminate that was built by the head of Wilsonart in the 1950s. The Wilson House is the the first and only home that has ever been named to the National Register of [...]

Maybe yes, maybe no, but if his belief is that it’s 90s because of the integral backsplash and edge (rather than the pattern) – I did respond that I’ve spotted integral design for [...]

These are sure a blast from the past: Glass combination trivets and cutting boards that are installed directly into your kitchen countertop. Yes: with metal rim aka Hudee ring. So, I have gone through Arpa’s line of solid-colored laminates and for the most part, been able to line up 10 colors [...]

As follow up to my post yesterday – with a round up of all the laminates for bathroom counters that are on my radar today – I also recently found this great little history of laminate in the 1950s, from Wilsonart. 2011 update, Wilsonart has taken story down, but here are a few highlights: Laminate [...]

Oh great. There’s another hour of my life lost. The results can be pretty weird if you use a baby picture of yourself, like I did. I also did some of my Dad in his 20s.
Thanks for posting this, Pam.
LOL, @ another hour of my life lost, Tut!!!!!
This will be fun!
It’s always fun to come here, Pam! TY!
