These are new from Formica. Both look like they could swing either “warm” or “cool” – that is, work across the spectrum from reds (and pinks) to blues. I really like the Linen – a very typical look for the 50s — Hey, Formica, can we have it in green, blue, pink and yellow?!: And, [...]

Arborite has two new laminates in their 2011-2012 collection that just popped onto my radar. I haven’t seen these as actual samples yet — I’ll order them this week. Meanwhile, I wanted to put them out there, because I know that many Retro Renovators have been left kind of up a creek since Formica discontinued [...]

Reader Sarah successfully removed a layer of more modern laminate from her yummy gold-speckled mid-century laminate beneath. She wrote about her experience — and the products she used — on her blog, Sarahs’ Blue Castle. But before you jump over there, take a look at her note to me and my comments here first –> [...]

I found this pad available at the website listed on the bottom, knockknockstuff.com. They have some other hilarious pads, also. Thanks for featuring it!
love the pad but love the sentiment more! I made my fabulous barkcloth curtains for my living room which I’ve been meaning to do for – oh god can I admit it? 2 years! – anyway everytime I walk into my living room now I smile, so glad I did them!
It was my first attempt at fully lined curtains and I love the material so much I didn’t want to mess up so it took a long time but I’m glad I put the effort in!
So I agree power through the to do list, it’ll make you feel good!
