Urban Outfitters features bedding, shower curtains, cloth curtains and wall art, all based on archival designs by Alexander Girard. I particularly like the shower curtains, and they are now on sale from $20-$25. The quilts — which also have matching shams — are pretty groovy, too. Urban Outfitters – Alexander Girard.

Shower curtains for Amy’s retro bathroom

I really love Urban Outfitters. The catalog is full of stuff I wish I could find at a thrift store (but sometimes can’t).
Selling licensed design merchandise seems to indicate that Urban Outfitters is becoming more ethical. In the past, their inventory has been full of knock-offs.
Thanks so much for this post. I ordered a set of the curtains and they are PERFECT in my dining room. We just moved into a mid-century storybook house and your website has provided invaluable inspiration. One of these days I’m going to send you some pix. Most of this place is original. (No pink bathrooms though.)
That’s great to hear, Gina! Yes, send me photos: retrorenovation [at] gmail [dot] com.
