Wowza — here is a ton — several tons, actually! — of vintage Consoweld laminate likely to come on the market soon. I never cease to be amazed at the retro treasures out there, yet to be unearthed. Interestingly, this seller first posted this on our Forum — but then got so much interest, put [...]

Over at her blog The Home Project, reader Linn and her husband continue to chronicle the remodel of their adorable bungalow kitchen. Recently, they rolled up their sleeves and installed a stainless steel countertop right over the old, existing laminate countertops. The headline: When first considering the stainless steel countertop option, Linn contacted a big [...]

I’ve written before about the Ralph Sr. and Sunny Wilson House in Temple, Texas – an amazing showcase of the innovative use of laminate that was built by the head of Wilsonart in the 1950s. The Wilson House is the the first and only home that has ever been named to the National Register of [...]

Wow, does anyone know about countertops like these? Becky recently bought a time capsule and her french provincial kitchen (I’d call it) includes these countertops. Reminds me of these Fritz floor tiles. Anyone work with this back in the day who knows? Kind of, an early-days version of Silestone or the other composite-quartz countertops sold [...]

Linen laminate from Arborite

I took 14 tablecloths off her hands over the weekend! The last of them arrived today, and several of them match – perfectly – a bunch of deadstock Parisian Prints brand napkins I found in a thrift store (also in CA, as these are) several years ago. What a thrill – and the prices can’t be beat.
Wow, Jocelyn, I am gonna go into the Completed Items and see what you nabbed. tee hee, I got myself three, of course!
She made up some custom lots for me that won’t show what I actually got, so I’ll tell ya: cream, pink, bright orange, red-orange, red, yellow, brown, 3 green (olive linen oval, cotton oblong, linen oblong), 3 gold (linen oval, blend oblong, linen oblong), and she threw in one of the Penna Dutch ones as a bonus. Luckily my dinette set is a rounded oblong, so the oval ones work on it too. I had hubby bring me the baskets of napkins from the closet and I found napkins to go with all of ‘em! What colors did you pick up?
Oh, and the other totally fun thing: those Penna Dutch ones? When I spotted those, I thought that Made With Love By Hannah might be interested in them. Emailed the listing to her, and sure enough, she went over right away in person and bought almost all of them to make skirts for her shop! I can’t wait to see what she does with them.
