• Let’s help Eartha Kitsch win the Kozy Shack contest – it’s Super Easy to vote

I’m taking the last blast of summer Labor Day weekend off (gasp! yes!) If you land here anyway — be sure to vote for reader Eartha Kitsch to win the Kozy Shack contest:

–> Click here to Vote Daily through Sept. 15 — it just take 10 seconds (no registration required).

Why am I supporting Eartha? See her fabulous knotty pine kitschen! And she has a pink bathroom, too. And — I love to see us flex our Retro Renovation Community Muscle in support of fellow readers just like we helped Leslie & Aaron get win #1 midcentury house in Los Angeles. :)

Hey, I voted again today, Eartha, and plan to every day between now and Sept. 15. I also should have added: Kozy Shack says that for each vote cast, 10 cents will go to WomenHeart, The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease.*

          • Eartha says:

Thanks so much Pam! : )

Oh, and yes, it’s true. 10 cents for very vote. I didn’t realize until I got involved in all of this that heart disease is the number one killer of women in America. That’s pretty staggering. So, all votes help fund a very worthy cause.

            Thanks again!

    3. Eartha says:

Oh my gosh! What a nice surprise this morning!

Thank you so much! I really do appreciate this, Pam. : )

And thanks to anyone who is willing to vote. We’ve got 20 days left in the contest counting today and we’d really LOVE your votes! Note, there are three little fields required to vote. The voting page makes it look like one but after you click “vote” there are a couple of other quick steps. And like Pam said, folks can vote every day.

      Thanks so much!

And thanks RetroSandie! I do have to admit that we’re the only one with a mannequin boy in our photo. : ) We appreciate your vote!

    5. Tracy says:

Voted for my fellow knotty pine kitchen owning friend! Good luck!!

    6. Lacey says:

That mannequin is so creepy I can’t help but crack up every time I look at it!! Where on earth did that thing come from? Did people actually sell things using those? :) Anyway, love the pic, just voted for it! Good luck!

    7. Larry says:

Ok..I voted too, not only becuase it’s a great cause, but also because anyone who is brave enough to have that frightening mannequin anywere near their house after dark deserves to win! :)

    8. Eartha says:

Thanks everyone for you nice (and hilarious) words and for your votes! : ) 17 days left in the voting…

Oh, and that mannequin, we call him Jack and he stays in our guest room. Y’all come! : )

    9. Tikimama says:

Yay for Eartha! I’ve been voting every day, along with all Eartha’s Flickr pals, for a while now. It’s great that the RR readers are in on it too, now. Did she tell you that her dream is to open an animal rescue organization if she wins?? Isn’t that cool?

    10. Eartha says:

Thanks, Tikimama! I love you lots and thanks for voting! : )

You’re right about the animal rescue. A million bucks could go a long way towards that dream. Our area is the saddest that I have ever lived in for tragic animal situations and it would be nice to pitch in and really change their lives and maybe put a plan into action to educate more people on the humane treatment of animals.

Thanks again Pam! And for everyone who has agreed to vote. You’ll never truly know how much we appreciate it. Two weeks left and fingers crossed. : )
