Update: Entries (comments) on this story are now closed. Congratulations to winners Renee (vase) and Melissa (apron) — I done spun the random number generator, and their number came up. Prizes awarded! Thanks, everyone, for playing — how much fun to read about everyone’s kitchens! Can you believe it, this Savoy vase, designed by Alvar Aalto, has been in continuous production since 1936 — that’s 75 years. Courtesy of sponsor FinnStyle.com, one reader will win this lovely classic vase this week.
And to double the fun, FinnStyle also is offering a second prize for a second reader: a Marimekko apron of your choice. This Kesatori design is my perky favorite — but I count 8 styles of Marimekko aprons, with a total of 14 possible colors. Continue on for instructions on how to enter to win our one of our two giveaways this week –>

I have a kitchen of many colors. The walls are white subway tile which is so easy to clean. The counter is also white tile but I trimmed the edges in a rainbow of primary colored tiles. I have a nice collection of pyrex primary colors bowl I use every day. I set them on the counter to hold fruits and vegtables since my cupboard space is limited. The cupboards are white with vintage red trimmed steel handles. On either side of the window are small shelves with red trimmed steel edges where I display a colorful collection of midcentury kitchen gadgets. Whether it’s a sunny summer day or a chilly winter morning, I love to cook in my colorful kitchen.

I love my super-bright and cheerful kitchen! It is the original 1957 highlighter-yellow laminate countertop, with all of the original teak cabinets, complete with stainless steel pulls, which match the double Thermador built in ovens (only one works), Thermador three-burner range, and Nutone hood. Also has a ton of windows and some exposed brick. My teenager needs sunglasses in the morning, but I love it!

We just bought our little 1951 ranch in March, so the kitchen is a work in progress! Very, very slow progress with a toddler and #2 on the way! Cabinets are original with mica flecked formica countertops and the floor is an awful 70s sheet vinyl- all harvest gold, all the time! My primary accent colors right now are yellow-green with aqua and silver, with a tiny bit of yellow thrown in for good measure. My colors coordinate with an old, old crate label for a local citrus company 🙂
Over time we will work to bring our kitchen back to its midcentury glory! First up, paint and curtains!

Currently, my kitchen is black and white with touches of red and jadite green. I had roosters in those colors too but have added some cherry stuff now too.

My new mod kitchen has green apple stone countertop, still undecided about backsplash,
This apron will definitely fit, anyway

Wow! 75 years – that’s is pretty impressive. Shows what a good design and good production values can do.
My kitchen right now is blah cause we just moved in last month. But soon it will sport a bit of my 50 year old Waverly wallpaper,” Woodmont,” and some new paint. The wallpaper has a tomato red background with little geometric designs in white, yellowish gold and green.
Thanks for the chances to win!

Orange, orange, orage and more orange. We are in the process of redoing the kitchen. Kickin’ Kiwi VCT tile floor; white countertops; orange, green, & yellow glass tile backsplashes. Love me some orange!

What are the colors in my kitchen? Why we just remodeled the kitchen over the summer and they are a sort of Robin’s Egg blue (Cassiopea by Valspar) and a white (hush hush also by Valspar) with a beautiful bead board around the entire kitchen….it’s cheery, bright, welcoming, and in my opinion heavenly! Which is ironically a great description since we purchased a convent and converted it into our home. 🙂

The walls are mid-1960’s walnut-colored panelling, countertops are almond laminate, cabinets are dark wood, and floor is Congoleum vinyl in white and sand flecked terrazzo pattern. Very tiny and very dark.
Future plans are to paint kitchen panelling a stark raving white and accent with aqua, yellow, and orange.

Right now it’s being remodeled, but when it’s done there will be tuquoise Geneva cabinets plus the 10+ Fiestaware colors we have…
