Happy happy, merry merry, everyone. I have a punch list about a mile long to get ready for Christmas, so I’m clocking out and will be back with more retro escapades on Dec. 26. Merry, merry, very merry to you, Pam! Thank you so much for your wonderful blog and your gracious treatment of your readers. I love the way you build community. And of course, I love the topic of you blog!
I blogged many years ago, but frankly, I fed up with the snarkiness and immaturity of many bloggers out there. This year I found your blog and had faith again that blogging could be fun, respectful, sane, welcoming, and informative. Thank you, thank you!

I “won” my first tinsel tree on shopgoodwill.com yesterday! I don’t know what size it is, and I have another bid on a 4 1/2 ft on on another auction site. I will keep one and sell the other.
When you live in a retro world you really have to plan ahead, so we are setting aside decorations for 2012 at our house.

I heard Alan Sherman’s “12 Days of Christmas” on the radio this morning. Those would be some cool retro gifts to have lined up in a row!
Happy Happy to all the retrorenovators!

Merry Christmas, Pam!
I’d also like to chime in that you and this site have made such a significant contribution to my understanding and enjoyment of the 1950s home we purchased last year. Thanks for all the inspiration, ideas and cheerleading you offer here and on Facebook daily!

Thank you, Michael and others. You are all so sweet. I am also immensely grateful for all the avid readers and commenters — who make this endeavor all the more special to me. Honestly, it’s you all that keep me going — into Year #5 of the blog now!!!

Ditto to all the thoughts and good wishes already said. Merry Christmas Pam and thank you for this great blog! So much work and research goes into in and it doesn’t go unappreciated! It’s a wonderful resource!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the other fellow retro renovators who read the blog! Enjoy time with your friends and family in your “retro” homes.

A happy Christmas to Pam and all who through their exploits have motivated me to work on my place and given me ideas for future projects. Also a special thought for those of us who have to work through Christmas to keep things going

And happy, happy, merry, merry to you too, Pam! Enjoy your break, knowing how many folks you’ve helped and how grateful we all are for you and retrorenovation! And happy holidays to all of the retro renovators out there … what a lovely bunch of people there are in the retro world.

Merry Christmas to Pam, who deserves a break, and to all my Retro Renovation buddies. I wish you beautiful surprises under your aluminum Christmas tree, peace in your little mid century corner of the world, and stress free renovations in 2012. And, may the rest of the world come to understand our obsessions just a little bit more.

BTW, thanks for the link to the Mamie info, Pam. I loved it. She and I have the same bathtub!! I will be sure to tell that to the next plumber who wants me to rip out everything just because it’s “old.”
She loved so many things that many of us here love, too. I think she would be right at home with us. Why, she and I even even like two of the same fragrance brands, Elizabeth Arden and Lancome.
I wish she was still with us. Can you imagine being able to sit down with her and talk about her experiences?

Ditto to Allen’s comment.
When I’m blue, or bored, or suffering from sensory overload, a quick trip to retrorenovation-com-staging.enwf9w61-liquidwebsites.com soothes the soul!
I’ll be trying to figure out how to loop all of the retro holiday decor photos in a slide show (any quick tips?) to accompany some nice egg nog sipping on Christma Eve.
Pam, You Rock!
