What a fun year we had here on Retro Renovation! Readers seem to love the time capsule houses best of all, so I thought that while Kate and I take some time off to celebrate Christmas with our families, we’d showcase this highlight — our top1- time capsule houses of the year. I counted 26 time capsule houses in 2013 in all. Most of them came from reader tips — THANK YOU and KEEP ‘EM COMING! I played Queen and chose the top-10 based on my assessment of vintage amazingness (Show me something I’ve never seen before) plus reader response. How much fun can one blog have? Quite a bit, that’s for sure! Have a SAFE and happy holiday, everyone. We’ll be back with new stories on Dec. 26.

A great subject post, Pam! You’ve done another fine job this year and as a frequent reader appreciate it very much! Thank you.

    2. The one in Palm Springs reminded me that Modernism Week is coming in February. I checked on tickets and they’re almost sold out.

I still love the ski chalet the best.

    3. Thanks for the roundup. Merry Christmas Pam and Kate and everyone out there in RR Land.

A Happy Holiday shout out to RR lovers everywere, Pam and Kate especially. Love the time capsules and I am happy that one of my suggestions is #8. Ho Ho Ho!

    5. Thank you for all the pretty pictures throughout the year.

Spent most of the day wrapping gifts and am just coming to this story now. How cool to revisit these places! I still love the 1942 Portland house with its multiple pastel baths the best. I didn’t have time to save up the $800,000 to make a bid on it before it sold. :-)

Merry, merry Christmas to Pam and Kate and all their RetroReno buddies who talk more (pastel) potty talk than any of my grandsons. (“Why did you get a pink potty, Meema? Oh, cool! I see! It makes my pee pink.”)

    7. Thanks for all the work you both do and for the many time-well-spent-hours you’ve given us all enjoying the tips, time capsules, and other fun stuff on the site. Merry Christmas!
