Found these “boomerang” print rod pocket drapes on Amazon. Pretty cool! Golee stars and boomerangs and other retro patterns.

I’m not sure when the next uploader will be.

Thanks for turning on the uploader. It’s one of my favorite features here. It’s incredible the things that people find and do with them. Craigslist sounds like a hopping place to shop. I especially like when readers indicate where they live, it sort of sets the scene where real retro is popular. Funny how 5 years ago the bunch of us on here were genuine lovers of old stuff and now retro styling is the new trendy thing. We knew it all along 😉

Cara’s GE “monitor top” fridge is an amazing find for free! I am pretty sure this is one of the earliest models, looking at the design of the condenser unit and the larger control box on it I would say around 1926-27. They weigh a TON. I’ve always wondered what it was like to deliver one of those up several flights of stairs in a hot NY tenement back in the day!

Pam,
I have wanted to share my find for so long,
My c1978 home doesn’t have a pink bathroom but now has a 1957 Mamie Pink patio set. I found it on Craigslist last February. We have replaced the broken glass top with new tempered glass one. Cost more than the table and 6 chairs.
Did a bit of research online and found an ad under Woodard Chantilly Rose 1957. it is same pink color and same chair style with two White porcelain roses in each corner under the glass top. It seams to be original paint with minor touch-ups.
We were told it was in storage for past 15 years until 80+yr old owner emptied out storage bin.
We have added other similar pieces and have even painted them to match. Schumacher Fabric is next project for new cushions.
Our house is dove gray, black shutters, and white trim and a victorian/colonial porch and bay windows.
It makes us happy to see on the deck.

So much fun and inspiration! I would love to know what red countertop and metal edging was used by the one who had the auto shop kitchenette. I have been agonizing over red kitchen countertops for years and they are the next step in my kitchen retro renovation. His look perfect and so shiny. Mine is the birch kitchen with the pink stove.

Hi Lisa ,
I used Formica red ellipse 1913, ordered the gloss finish. The trim was from eagle mouldings,http://eagle-aluminum.com/.
The upper and lower cabinets are constructed to mimic metal cabinets and will be painted two different shades of turquoise… Can’t wait to see how it turns out!! Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, Donny! Your project looks fabulous. I can’t wait to see what it’s going to look like with the aqua cabinets. Also, I love the fold-down burners. Very cool. I think what really cinched it for me was the gloss finish on the counters. Just ordered my samples and can’t wait to get them. My kitchen is going to be based on one of Pam’s 1940s inspiration boards. The one with the birch cabinets. Thanks, again, for more red countertop yumminess. 🙂
