Here’s how the catalog describes the line:

Vivid honeycomb … Moe Light’s exclusive expression of creative lighting at its finest.

The photo above: From a fantastic time capsule house first chronicled on Vintage Las Vegas. I also archived the image in my vintage lighting slide show.

In 1968, the catalog says, the Cranberry-pink was introduced. The blue is called “Emerald-blue”. The gold: Tangerine-gold.

Here’s the room shot — a hallway, it appears. It’s … interesting … to see this light paired with rustic furniture, wall paneling, and look: the door has wrought iron. I think we are seeing seeds of the Mediterranean Casa de la Torquemada look. Not a scene in which we might expect to see this thoroughly modern light — just goes to show that they mixed it up plenty back in the day. Or else, the Moe interior designers were doing magic mushrooms. 1968 and all.

Meanwhile, back in suburbia on the planet Earth, this is the Mrs.’ blue sewing room. Yes, this room would tempt even me to give it all up for a band of gold. There’s a lot going on, so don’t lose the lights: There’s a blue honeycomb pull-down in the foreground, and honeycomb-trimmed can lights in the ceiling near the stairs. The catalog says:

Every homemaker’s dream… the woman’s studio … smartly designed and accented with emerald-blue honeycomb lighting styles.

You gotta love this. Does anyone recognize the artwork?

These photos are always such a gas: Look closely, the bed is set into a nook; the nook is upholstered in the same fabric as the bedspread. There also is a light bar back there.

The wall sconces are particularly snappy, don’t you think?

The pendants, too. And these are so NOW. I can imagine many a lighting company introducing them today — with fanfare like they were their idea.

These “celing tracks” are wicked cool. They “let you move fixtures up to six feet.” You could use them like a swag, or there was hardware included to hard wire them.

Remember: I have been told that pull down lighting is no longer to code; consult with a professional, please. And: Vintage lighting should be rewired.

Now here’s some 70s going on. These lights are insane. Luv.

another source for replacement shades

Check out this store in Hampton, Virginia — two stories chock full of vintage table lamps, boudoir lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, sconces, and replacements globes, shades and parts  – spotted by Suzy aka Georgia Peachez. You will recall, Suzy is world famous for her Christmas wreaths made from vintage ornaments. She writes:

Above, a cheap and cheerful retro ceiling fixture, $38 that would look good in a bedroom, a laundry room, or office. You could spray paint the brushed chrome housing if you prefer color.

This could be very cute ceiling light for a mid century modest laundry room, or even a hall, $12.99. Repeat: Easy to repaint the housing for yet another design effect.

For $5.92, you could tuck this retro light in a closet, on an enclosed porch, on the basements stairs – any number of places. But, is it a “part-timer”? Some of the online reviews on the Lowe’s site suggest this light works intermittently, read them and decide for yourself.

Retro globe light, $24.88. Kind of cute as a button.

Pretty retro-modern ceiling light, $109. This has a bit of Scolari to it.

A kind of 70s Tiffany style retro, $99. Not sure I’d call it “authentic” retro – but it gives me happy 60s vibes. If only it were a burnt orange and red glass instead of amber/black!

Retro glamorous 4-light office, foyer, dining room or bedroom light, $88.  A knock off, I’d say, of Jonathan Adler, which, for all I know, is a knock-off of someone else. Pretty much everything today is derivative of something else older…

This ceiling fixtures reminds me of old Progress lights — it has a porthole/streamline/modern feel. Progress style modern light, $58.

Single cylinder bullet light, $25. Goodness, I can’t imagine you can find these less expensively anywhere else but the Re-Store. These (and the light below) are marketed by Seagull Lighting. The body is steel — good for repainting, I’d think. I cannot find any information on their website, or on Lowe’s, indicating Country of Origin. I am guessing you can only find that out country of origin by looking at the box or on the light itself (I don’t know the regulation). And I am also going to guess – Made in China. Want bullet lights assembled in the U.S.: Try Remcraft.
