This was a very early maker of fitted steel kitchens, based in Evansville, Indiana. These images are from 1945, when economic recovery from the war was just beginning - and marketing was still quite lightweight, compared with the 50s. It's interesting to see that this company was selling a complete kitchen solution, not just the cabinets. In much of America, coal-burning stoves were still the norm. These were dirty - but still a great improvement from their forebears, the wood-burning stove. Progress brought natural gas, and electricity, to American homes.
