Susan and her Granada Hills Greg-inspired Moe light — I see us all heading straight into the heart of the 60s!

Hi Pam,

Thanks to Greg and his Moe catalogs, I now know that this is a Moe Venetian featured in their 1965 catalog. I picked this up at our local Re-Store for $10! It’s in great shape! I thought I’d share, since it ties in with this topic…

A vintage Moe light short on charm

When I asked readers what they wanted me to blog more about — Mary-Frances of Midcentury Style asked me to spotlight some of the things I dislike about the period. Being the tolerant, live and let live sort – at least when it comes to decorating for heaven’s sake – there’s not much I can’t find amusement in. But – I have to say, this Moe light now on ebay strikes me as pretty awful.

On my retro radar: Beautiful retro lighting for your bathroom and living areas

This ceiling fixture is really beautiful. It would look great in a foyer, a den, a bedroom or a living room. Hey, even a kitchen. This light is also another example of how mainstream middle class mid century modern – could demonstrate incredible artistry. Simply gorgeous.
