Today, a GINORMOUS treat: FIVE count ’em FIVE New Old Stock (NOS) Moe Honeycomb sconces. Click here to see the full line from a 1968 catalog. I’ve never ever seen a treasure trove like this. Oh, and they are in our Retro Renovation 2012 Color of the Year: Cobalt Blue. Yum; I bet these will sell for lots of dough. Pantone Orange, you ask? That was our 2011 pick. We aim to keep one step ahead. Or behind. Or whatever. Click through for more photos of the five Moe sconces (permission just received from seller to feature the photos)… along with tips on how to use the ebay carousel —
Tip to using the ebay carousel: To go to a particular item, click on its photo (NOT on the ebay logo) — then, click on the lime green “View and Bid” box, which will take you to ebay. Disclosure: When you buy anything from these ebay carousels or after you click into ebay here (link long gone), it nets me a teensy commission.

I want them all — except the sconces! Shucks!
I’m with clampers – I’ve looked and looked for the ceiling lights and pendant lights but no luck. Is ebay the only place I can find these? Ahhhhh, they are beautiful and would look so good in my 70’s great room.

yup, just ebay for these Moes, as far as I know.

Great series! I’m new here (over from AT – congrats on the nomination!). I’m from a little blog, waaaaay down on the AT list, lol, but I love vintage and am so happy to have found your blog.
Good luck!! I’m voting for you.

Can I put ’68 lights in a ’78 house? I just love these. Those ceiling lights would be so much nicer than the brass “boobs” we currently have.
(And congrats on the Homies voting! Definitely deserved!)

Go for it, Rita. 1968 was already “the 70s” in terms of design history, IMHO. I think the question is, how sky high will the price for these go? Check the balance in the college fund. And thank you for your vote xoxo it’s fun!

Oh man gorgeous! I wish I could find the ceiling light. These sconces will make someone very happy. 🙂

The ceiling lights are around…. make lots of searches on ebay using all the possible terms you could think of. I’ll keep my eye out, too.

Well, Clampers, since they are all on separate auctions, they could potentially make 5 people very happy or very sad.
Personally, I despise when sellers split stuff like this, and I won’t bid on them because of that. If I need two or three, or even all 5 and get outbid and the last few seconds and only end up with one, then I end up not being very happy.
That recently happened to me over two matching fixtures, posted separately. I walked away with only one, and now I have to improvise since I didn’t win the pair.
Ok, love these lights, but no way would I duke it out if I needed more than one………….

I totally agree — these should be sold “Dutch auction” — I *think* ebay allows for that. Infuriating.
