We’ve written about Formica Vanitory designs before — and now, I’m thinking that here is one spotted in the wild — for sale in Washington, D.C. area. What a very functional design — with all the countertop space, yet set off the floor to make for easy cleaning and also a sense of greater space in a small vintage bathroom. Thanks to reader Beth for the tip and to the seller for permission to publish these photos here.
Above: That’s an image from my 1951 Formica Vanitory brochure. It’s gotta be the same thing, don’t you think?
Above: And we even get to see the sliding mirror (recessed?) that goes with. Lookie all the pretty Mother of Pearl gray laminate lining the inside!
Above: It’s handy to have the measurements!
But even better maybe: Pick up this pretty pink puppy for your bathroom! Craigslist ad here.

Ooooo, that mirror! Sending this to the countertop guy. Love the vanitory too but kinda hate to lose the cabinet space.

Absolutely lovely! Too bad it comes so late for my pink and gray bath–the the width is just right. Sigh–one can’t have ALL the pink bathrooms, just one that is perfect for one’s house. 🙂
