TGIF! We’re ready to go go go for this 1960s pop up paper centerpiece made by Gibson Greeting Cards. It’s not only a fantastic piece of illustration history, but is also new and unused in the original package. You don’t find stuff like this everyday folks!
- This super mod paper party decoration was listed for sale on Ebay by seller turboman812.
From the Ebay listing:
You are bidding on a fabulous vintage hippie/mod pop-up table centerpiece from Gibson by Pakay. The centerpiece is titled “In Crowd” and depicts a “Go-Go” band and dancer. This has never been used and is still in the plastic wrapper. The centerpiece measures approximately 17″ tall and 12″ wide (my best guess measuring without opening). This piece would be a wonderful addition to a 60’s-70’s themed Halloween party decoration or could be framed and used as art.
NOTE: We brightened up the image for our lead photo — please see the ebay listing for un-retouched photos.
The packaging claims the Pakay centerpiece to be:
- Attractive as a table decoration
- Versatile as a home decoration
- Unusual on a mantelpiece
- Clever as a gift
And I have to agree with them all — who wouldn’t want to display this rocking’ tables cape? I wonder if they had coordinating napkins, tablecloths and other goodies to go with this design.
Personally, I’d display this on my mantel — because I love the illustration style — and why not?
