The Drexel Profile furniture collection was designed by John Van Koert, and it was in production from 1955 to 1961. Van Koert started out as a jewelry designer for Harry Winston after WWII and later branched into industrial design. He also is well known for designing silver for Towle, particularly the Contour design; his particular attention to the drawer pulls and other hardware on Profile pieces is noted in the catalog. Thanks to Femme1 for obtaining this information – including this complete 1960 catalog, courtesy of the excellent customer service at Drexel. Femme1 owns the walnut dining table and chairs #K40, and the round extension table, with #K62, the side chairs.

Hello, do you happen to have any history on the Drexel Projection line? Having a hard time finding anything.
Thanks!

Does anyone know a good way to clean/polish up the gold colored drawer handles on 1958 Drexel Projection series pieces? I have my dad’s tall dresser and the drawer handles are a very dirty dark matte/brushed looking gold color but I believe these were a shinier brass color when new? Anyone know? Thanks!
Erin says
Very, very light touch with steel wool in some mildly soapy water.

I just picked up the smaller buffet, sans china hutch. It needs a little TLC, but I really like it. I believe the date stamp on the back indicates it was made in April of 1956. I’m just curious, how does one find out the original purchase price?
Pam Kueber says
Jessica, I am not an expert on this. Try contacting Drexel..
Emily Rose says
I just aquired the drop leaf dining room table but the center leaf was not with it. Any ideas where I might be able to find a replacement?
Kim says
I have a living room set from Drexel 1959, looking to sell it. Any ideas?

Craigslist is likely your best bet. If it’s super desirable ebay, or get a professional appraisal to determine value and pro advice to find a buyer.
