Magic Chef Retro Edition small refrigerator — in mint, red, and white

Brand new to the market: A small refrigerator with retro styling, the Magic Chef Retro Edition Refrigerator. Thanks to Colleen for this tip, and the photo above. She writes: Cutie patootie refrigerator I saw in Home Depot this weekend.” Cutie patootie indeed! In three colors — and we found a Daewoo twin on Amazon too.

Available in Mint … Red … and … White …

Note, at $300 to $349, this retro style refrigerator looks to cost about double a plain version. But… cutie patootie! Thanks so much, Colleen, for this tip!

Where to find this retro refrigerator:

  • Magic Chef Retro Edition 4.4 cu.ft. refrigerator at Home Depot
  • And, you can get this >> from Daewoo — 4 colors — online at Amazon too! << (Thanks readers for this tip!) Note, the Amazon links earn me a small commission if you buy anything from Amazon after clicking the link.

This is as cute as it can be. I think the color looks mint. The case itself is plastic, not metal. We dropped by a Home Depot in Annapolis today and they had 4 left and they were $198.00. We had a $50 credit that Home Depot had given us for an order mix up problem. We used it on the fridge. It sort of has a Pottery Barn Kids refrigerator look. We plan to use it for overflow when all the kids visit at one time. Our granddaughter thinks it is her refrigerator!
So thank you so much for this tip. I, like another poster, did not know I needed this item.

I went to Home Depot & ordered a white version. They had about 7 mint versions, a color I don’t really care for. And I only paid $198.00 for it. Thanks for the heads up. I too, didn’t know I couldn’t live without something so cool & retro.

Thanks for the tip. We had borrowed a small fridge for a Christmas party last year and were looking for a replacement. This is perfect for our house and we got it in the mint green as the original kitchen in was in a mint green shade. All the Home Depot stores near us were showing limited quantities so we ordered it for delivery at the $198 (in CT).

Hmmm…whenever I go through the Amazon link, I get Daewoo refrigerators. Look the same, but say “Daewoo” on the front instead of “Magic Chef.” Oh well, very sweet little fridge!

    1. Pam Kueber says:

Oopsy, I fixed the first reference. There seem to be twins — one branded Magic Chef, the other Daewoo. It may be the Magic Chef is a special for Home Depot only — scroll to the bottom of the story to get to that link. Thank you for catching that, Jan!

I have been eying this for a while. Just looked on Home Depot’s website, and it is now discontinued:-(. The more expensive Daewoo is still available on Amazon!

If you’re still looking for something like this, Target has a Galanz retro 4.4 cu ft mini fridge. Currently on sale for $199.00 + tax on-line only, free shipping. https://www.target.com/p/galanz-4-4-cu-ft-retro-mini-fridge/-/A-53081760#lnk=sametab&preselect=52602894

Just unpacked ours last night and got it up and running. Very nice little fridge. Happy that it’s got no freezer unit, so the whole of the space is usable as a ‘drinks’ fridge. Note that the color on the website is a little misleading, mostly due to the shading they used on the photo. We ordered the Eggshell Blue and it looks pretty much like the Magic Chefs I saw in Home Depot last fall, including the glossy finish.

It would be great if I could buy the appliance paint to match so i could refinish the original alvocado green stove. My mint green will have to be exchanged. Bummer!
