Hi Pam,

This is an entry for the “Found objects…Found art” Contest. This is poster from 1953 for an art show by Georges Braque. My parents had this poster in our hallway for as long as I can remember when I was growing up. My Mother was going to throw it out because they were going to paint the hallway and this was tattered at the edges.I loved it and I rescued it by putting it in a frame so that you can’t see the edges.

This now has a permanent home in my living room and I love it!

I wanted to share it with you,

Jill

    Hi !
I can see that your picture is a copy af an original print ( litograph )from Mourlot, size 60 x 40 cm. 1953.

    Your print is an offsetprint.

I have this in a 20″ x 28″ frame, so the poster itself is a little bigger than that. I saw this same print on the Museum of Modern Art website. “MoMA.org | The Collection | Georges Braque. G. Braque, Braque Graveur, Berggruen & Cie. 1953”

What a wonderful save, Jill. I love vintage graphics and want them as part of my living room art, but they’re pricey….you scored AND saved some of your own history!
