1950s tablecloths from Vermont Country Store

pam kueber - Updated: August 18, 2021

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

Every few months it’s good to remind that Vermont Country Store has lots of great vintage-inspired housewares. Kay recently wrote:

I was looking for tablecloths today and was delighted to find the Vermont Country Store is offering two tablecloths that are reproductions of 1950’s designs. They also carry woven tablecloths that have been made in Vermont for 150 years, so they would have graced tables in 1950’s homes.

These are beautiful. Thanks, Kay, for the tip. 🙂

are you familiar with the California Handprints tableclothes? My sister showed me one she inherited from our mom, which I remember well, but had forgotten all about. She mentioned how she’d love to have more of them, or napkins to go with, etc, which launched me into searching and finding many, many of their tableclothes via eBay, Etsy, and more. Haven’t found Mom’s yet, tho, darn it.

Very Cool. I also saw a couple of 50’s style cotton chenille bedspreads as well as some Mamie Eisenhower lace table linens. Great stuff for us retro renovators!

I love these! I just missed out on a set of vintage ones on ebay by this much! There’s always next time. 🙂
