I would love to see photos of the kitchen and how it relates to the fireplace. My 1957 house has what appears to be a similar fireplace and floorplan, but the kitchen was remuddled in the eighties.

What is the fireplace mantel material? Looks like stainless steel.
How does your fireplace draw – or does it smoke up the house?? I’m thinking of changing our 3-sided fireplace to gas pipes with fireglass. Any info is appreciated. Beth
