pam kueber - April 28, 2009, Updated: August 2, 2021

Drexel Plus One furnitureThanks to Puddletown aka Cheryl for spotting this 60s flower-power Peter Max-style Drexel bedroom set on Craigslist. It’s in Minneapolis, and it’s not cheap, but oh my goodness, this is the greatest bedroom set in the world! And, thanks to seller Molly for the photos — [link expired]– and click through to the next page for 5 more photos.

April 2014 update:

Drexel Plus One dressers Drexel Plus One headboardPam spotted this groovy flower power Drexel bedroom set up for sale on Ebay from seller jay_c96 complete with a day of the week highboy dresser, nightstand, bookshelf and three single bed daisy headboards.

Jan 2010 update:
A flickr friend has identifed this AWESOME bedroom furniture as Drexel Heritage ‘Plus One’ circa 1970. She has a catalog, which said that Drexel interviewed girls via SEVENTEEN magazine to design the line.

      Anne,

Trying one more time to reach out to you regarding this set — I’m still doing my best to piece this bedroom together for my girls, and earlier attempts to reach you were in vain. I’m very interested in any/all pieces you might still have available. Please look me up on Facebook if you’d like to get in touch.

Thanks in advance & take care! 🙂

Curious…does anyone happen to remember what they were asking. Pam was saying it had been a good price for almost 2 sets…just how much do I need to kick myself for not seeing that post?! 🙂

Lou, I have a pretty good memory — but don’t remember this one.

🙂 That’s okay! I don’t need to be in that much pain anyhow! I just got back from picking up the headboard, I actually hopped up and down and squealed in front of the lady. She had bought it planning to “paint it white and upholster the middle” but ran out of oomph to do it. Thank goodness! I told my husband that even if our daughter didn’t want it, I was going to rescue it; it’s just too groovy to let someone else do that to it!!! P.S. She’s getting it whether she wants it or not!

I’ve been looking for this set since my parents sold it when I was 13……It was a huge part of my life…..I used to sit in the telephone booth and write in my journal every day. I’ve tried to describe it to friends over the years, but they never could grasp just how cool it truly was! Mine was yellow and the desk had one solid drop down panel that smartly read, “Desk.” My night stand read, “Good-nite.” I would love to see more photos if you have them.

    Thanks-K

Holy Crap! I HAD this set when I was little, only had an even weirder headboard with a creepy abstract head and footboards with toes! Don’t know what the parents were smoking when they bought it, but I sure wish my daughter had it now.

Hey, Julie, the link expired, so I think that means they’re gone. You gotta read Retro Renovation regularly to be ready to jump on the deals we spot….

Did the 60’s Drexel Flower Power bedroom set sell already? If so, how much? If not, I am in Minneapolis and interested.

I’ve seen a couple of these sets around (or maybe the same set twice). I have the phone booth/ottoman. Very sturdy set by the way- not cheap kid’s furniture.

    I believe mine is date-stamped 1972.

Seems to me there was also a flowery table with the same base as the night stands.
