Can I just say that we had VCT tile put down and we just recently removed it! It was awful. If you don’t wax it, it scratches when you do anything! If you wax it, you get a beautiful sheen, but you have to keep that up and after a few years you have to strip it… and that’s NO FUN!! We are putting down Marmoleum Click tile for our new home and it’s amazing!! Its the original “linoleum”. But now its got a super top coat that you can even repair if its ever necessary. Our new home had ceramic tile throughout and this can be put down right over the tile, so NO DEMO!! It has a cork backing for acoustical value, and because its a “click” tile, you can remove pieces if necessary OR in a few years take it up and have your original tile floors! Or, put down a new color of Marmoleum!! We are going to video the install so we can pist how easy it really is, and its a great mid century look. It comes in square tiles and planks, we’re using a combination of the two and going with a mc design. Don’t waste your money on VCT.

Hi ReNee, I realize some folks may not prefer the maintenance of VCT. That issue does not bother me — love me my Azrock Cortina Autumn Haze. Good news: There are lots of different options for flooring depending on your preferences. I have this story, a round up of various places to get “resilient” flooring of various types: https://retrorenovation.com/2015/02/10/23-companies-flooring-cork-linoleum-midcentury-house/
