Getting ready for a mad mad mid mod Charlotte, North Carolina

Calling all readers in and around Charlotte, North Carolina! I am really busy getting ready for 5 presentations at the Southern Spring Home & Garden Show on Thursday, March 4 and Friday, March 5.  In keeping with the theme of the blog, I will be taking attendees on a whirlwind tour of 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s home design — and provide lots of ready-to-go ideas for how to incorporate the best of the period into your home today. And, Mardee Woodward, executive show manager, has asked me to do one presentation on Save The Pink Bathrooms. Tee hee. Our tentacles are out there, people. We are saving the mid mod world — one pink bathroom at at time.  See my schedule via the link above or click on the show logo — and let me know if you are coming! Finally, more snaps to Erica Berger, photographer extraordinaire, for another mid mod portrait taken during our photo shoot in November. It’s so fun to play dress up.

I’m pretty sure my parents had that lamp. The little “knobs” on the tops look correct, as does the yellowing/browning of the fiberglas shades (or at least that’s what I seem to remember them being). I bet it’s been thrown out, damnit.

I wanted to pop by and tell how much I love your blog! I love my 1920’s Aladdin home but this blog does make rethink walking away from the 1950’s ranch (with original wood panel kitchen cabinets ;)) that we were considering! Good luck in Charlotte and lets us know if you are ever coming to Nashville!!

I think the clasp on the “said pin” might have snapped…and is now safely tucked away in the putty colored leather clutch on the chair next to you….with the wrist length gloves, peach-y lipstick and pack of Kents in a pearl covered case…I hope you ordered a 16×24 copy of this photo.

You look as if you are right out of Mad Men!

Good luck at the Show, Pam! Will you dress in similar attire for the presentations? You look fantastic and I think it would be perfect. I wish you could video tape some of your sessions so we all could see them right here!

Great cocktail party look for you! May I suggest a gold and pearl Leaf Pin at the shoulder?
