Thanks to reader Shelly for this tip — Here’s a two-minute preview of the PBS documentary, Charles & Ray Eames: The Architect and the Painter. The full-length, hour-and-half story appears Monday night, Dec. 19, 10 p.m. most places. Sure to be fascinating — I’m DVRing this one, too:

Hi Pam– just got an email from my local PBS folks and there is an interesting-looking documentary on Ray & Charles Eames, airing locally in Phoenix Monday  at 10pm. Knowing PBS, they will re-air it several times, so I am hoping to DVR it… Bet your local PBS folks will have it, too! Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, and thanks as always for the fantastic blog.

This show was really good! So fascinating. I love American Masters. Especially loved the bit about the Arlene Francis interview…with Arlene continually trying to put Ray “in her place”…like Arlene couldn’t deal with the fact that a woman played an integral and equal role in the Eameses career…and Charles was uncomfortable with Arlene’s comments. Here is a video in case anyone wants to watch just that clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfzLzOl795E

Fast forward to like, 1:06 or so for the good stuff…

I really appreciated the tip on this as the movie is
on tour currently in SF but I am not able to make it for any dates, so it’s recorded and waiting to view at my leisure. Thank you!

It didn’t seem to be on our schedule for last night. I will look for it again this week or else online.
