I got a Shop-Vac for our first anniversary. I also got a shower head for my birthday one year. Miraculously enough, we’re still married 20 years later.

In our modern world, I think the husband would be in dire staights if he bought an appliance like that as a gift for his wife!! I remember a saying that a man should never buy a woman anything that needs to be plugged in! (well…a few exceptions!!!)

For my 41st birthday, my husband got me a toilet plunger.
I am not kidding.
Granted, I asked for it, since the old one would flip inside out and then splash poo-water on my feet.
I have to say, though, I’ve really gotten a lot of mileage out of that story, so it was worth it.
