Time for an impromptu caption contest. It was an exciting weekend at Pam’s houseā¦
A broken arm and wrist — in like five places, the word “shattered” was used.
Ok, possibly too exciting of a weekend for Pam’s taste, but she is in good spirits and has decided that a caption contest will help aid her speedy recovery — laughter is the best medicine, right?
Here’s some material to work with:
- The injury was tiki decorating related. There was NO RUM involved, but Pam now is giving her barkcloth samples the evil eye. Other fun props in this adventure: Three colorful spaghetti globe lights — oh so sparkly underfoot as you fly past them overhead!
- The ER at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington, Mass. was fantastic. They keep their blankies in a blanket warmer. Pam says the doctor was particularly cute, but admits, that could be the Percocet talking.
- Pam is right handed and says, “Good luck surviving this, Kate, as you will have to do EVERYTHING for the blog for the next 6-8 weeks until the cast comes off. In the meantime, I will be taking this time to become a better person, starting with reviewing my own safety advice.””
Full story to come on Wednesday. Until then, let’s come up with some funny captions for this pathetic photo of Pam to help cheer her up. Winner gets a $25 gift card.
Ready, GO!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I just found out about your accident. I’m so sorry!! You look so much in pain. š
No comment for the contest; just a wish to get well soon!! And stay away from those wicked tikis!
Marcia says
I said, “break a leg, not break an arm!”
Pam, I give you kudos for allowing yourself to be photographed in the hospital. Now please get out of there soon!
Caitlin says
“Honey, you had better search Craigslist for a vintage bidet.”
Heal up quick and solid, please. We can’t make it in this greige world without you.

“Pam sprained her wrist falling from a ladder. When she told the ER staff it was Tiki decorating related they laughed so hard they dropped her and broke arm. “
Carol says
That’s funny. You have to love this website to get it. Poor pretty Pam is now dressed in greige. I’m so sorry Pam. I hope for your speedy recovery. I’m 50 and fell last week for the first time since I can even remember. It involved rescued kittens and a dish of scrambled eggs. (trying to wean) I was bruised, mad and sad. Accidents happen sooooo fast. God Bless You. (I’m from the south, it’s what we say, Lol, but very heartfelt.)
Richard S. says
I feel for you Pam, seeing you this way. I hope for a speedy recovery!
Here’s my caption: When undertaking renovations, ALWAYS consult
a Professional….
Miranda says
“I kind of wish there HAD been rum involved.”
Heal better and feel better soon!
John says
Kate! I said, “Hold the ladder” not “Fold the ladder”.
BeaS says
“I finished my 7th Tiki cocktail and fell off the bar stool.”
Pam, hope you heal quickly and can return to the Tiki Bar.
Linda Harlow says
“I swear I wasn’t wearing those Lucky Lou shoes while trying to hang the spaghetti globe lights!”
Take care Pam. Perhaps they can craft a great pink and black tile design cast for you. On the up side, it only takes one finger to surf eBay.
