Spring is springing — and to celebrate all the sunshine, lollipops, rainbows, and unicorns that come with this season of renewal, we’re doing a fun pop-up giveaway this weekend. You can win a classic piece of Americana — A Kit Cat clock — contributed by our friends at Kit-Cat Clocks, who have been making these clocks in the U.S. of A. since 1932. Continue on for the rules and the deadline…
How to enter to win a Kit Cat clock:
- To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter — (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” – you can opt out at any time after the contest ends)
- To enter, use the Comment field on this post below and tell us… where you’d hang your Kit Cat clock… or why just looking at this invention just brings out a smile… or just say hey.
- One entry per person. Note: All comments are going into moderation and are being approved when we get to them.
- U.S. and Canada delivery addresses only.

Many thanks to Kit-Cat for contributing the prize for this giveaway — check out all their designs on their website here.
Note: This is NOT a paid or sponsored post. Pam just got the itch for a happydoodle giveaway, reached out to Kit-Cat, and meow, here we are. Good luck to one and all!

It was about 1960, maybe ’61. I was four or five. When my parents would take me to my uncle and aunt’s house on a Friday night, I’d go up in my cousin Dennis’ bedroom and read his Mad Magazines with him. I was in my glory! I looked up to him and my parents thought I was too young to have Mad in our house. When it was time to leave, my dad would call up the stairs, “Bobby…let’s go”. Dennis’ older brother, Jack had a Kit Kat clock on his wall and he called it Maxine. After my father announced we were leaving, Jack would start this slow growling , “meeeeooooWWWWWW…” THAT SCARED ME TO DEATH! Dennis would look at me all concerned and say, “Oh no! That’s MAXINE! She’ll GET YOU!” I had to pass the bedroom with Maxine in it in order to get down the stairs. It would always take my about 20 minutes to get up the courage before I would take a deep breath and FLY down the stairs. Every single time my dad would ask me what was wrong but I was afraid to tell him….lest Maxine knew and would come after me later!!! I’d LOVE to hang that on my wall and send a picture of it to both my cousins!

If the quality of the comment determined the winner, it would be you! I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one scared of these things. In fact, I don’t want to win because I STILL think they’re scary!
