This would be a replacement for one I had that disappeared in 1980 during one of my moves, and would have a place of honor on my desk, where I can keep an eye on it.

As a young boy (I was 3 when the Lava Lite was introduced), I was mesmerized by one in the waiting room of my dentists’ office. It was so therapeutic I wanted one of my own. Although it was only heated by a 40W appliance bulb, it made my mother nervous. Finally after years of lobbying and convincing her that it was NOT a thermo-nuclear device, I got one for Christmas (gold w/red lava, just like the 50th anniversary model), which stayed in my room for all my teenage years, although I was only able to turn it on for an hour or so at a time.
Through my adult life it has always held a special place in my mid-century living room. Recently it was joined by a twin, and two hold an esteemed spot atop the walnut console (also mid-century) of my 1963 Hammond A100 Organ. One is on each side, sort of a mid-century version of the Liberace;s piano with candelabras.
Although it has survived many moves, the lava has become sluggish, and I would cheerfully welcome a new anniversary model, as it matches my original, and since the Lava Lite and I are around the same age, we can reach senior status together, and I can peer into the clear lava while playing the organ in retirement.

I’ve never had a lava lamp, but I’ve always been fascinated by them. It would go in my living room, which is where I spend most of my time.

I am recently divorced. My ex has a number of these but refuses to give me one. This would really cheer me up!

I remember the originals. It would look fabulous with the 1970s furniture I inherited from my parents. Also, my 20 year old daughter loves everything retro and would enjoy this in her room.
Thanks÷ 🙂

I am 64 years old and always loved Lava Lights but I have never had one of my own. I would put it by my bedside to look at since I am staying with my 89 and 91 year old parents to take care of them. Maybe it would be soothing.

Probably on top of the low bookshelf in our bedroom. That’s where the cats tend to nap, and I think it’s important for them to learn more about “the madness of humans”.
