Witco tiki art hula girl princess — all mine!

Pam Kueber - Updated: August 18, 2021

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

I dropped everything to drive two hours south, to pick up this gorgeous, pristine, amazing Witco tiki hula girl artwork at an estate sale, then drove two hours home. The piece is 60″ high and 30″ wide — a real statement piece for sure! I also got a small Witco stool that sat under it for many many years. Like, since 1980, at least. She will be a crowning jewel of my Mahalo Lounge! I am so psyched!

Yowza! Score! What a Find! Purrrfect!

    RE: taxes
I meant to mention before, have you tried TurboTax?
I’ve used it for 20 years & it has always been (ready?) Fun/Easy.
(I know right?). It’s set up like a quiz (who doesn’t like quizzes?)

It’s Professional, Secure & double checks everything. It’s an up to date algorithm. I even tested it by doing my own taxes long hand, hiring a tax professional & going through TurboTax.
TT found more savings & it has proved itself reliable.

You might want to consider it for next year…
    (FYI: Not affiliated, personal testimonial)

My DH does the taxes in this house, and he has used Turbo Tax for many years. The thing that takes the most time is not filling out the forms–it is gathering the materials that are applicable. He especially has problems with my info, which strays to various corners of our ranch house. I’m getting better, but it’s a Sisyphusian effort. (You remember Sisyphus, who spent all day every day rolling a rock up a hill, only to have it tumble down at the end of the day?)

You know, there are some people who would think that dropping everything to drive two hours to purchase something like this is a ridiculous idea.

Those people would be so, SO wrong.

The Retro Gods definitely smiled on you with THIS score. Perfection!!

Just goes to show how far some people will drive to avoid paying taxes. I’ve never extended, because once you have calculated how much you owe so that you can pay the bill, aren’t you almost done with the paperwork?

Hmmmm! Anything to get out of completing those pesky taxes.
Great find, it will definitely feel right at home in your lounge.
Given its size, it’s a wall filler for sure. Looking forward to seeing it in it proper place.

My taxes are in a frozen state right now. I am going to throw checks at the IRS and the great Commonwealth of Massachusetts and extend. Next week: Woodworking class all week! Pam’s eyes always bigger than Pam’s stomach!

With all the built-in bookcases, where will you have room for her? Pretty cool, though.

I don’t recall if I’ve “shown” you the complete room. There is wall space!
