Denise and I have been painting fools all week long, and the foolishness is scheduled to continue through about 3 p.m. Friday, when we break for the long weekend. We are heading toward the finish line in our epic task to faux bois paint all the dados, windows, beams, cabinets and trim in my living room and dining room.
Ya can’t see it through this chaos, The Mahalo Lounge is shaping up to look pretty darned awesome. There’s still more — ceiling treatment, lotsa lighting, the sectional, wall and other decor — to come, though, before the first official party. Meanwhile, though, the painting is almost done. Yippee! Have a great weekend, everyone!

can we see some close ups of the faux bois being applied on larger surfaces, NOT dentils?

The camera angle is to dramatize how your life is topsy-turvy.
Is that where we decided the bar is to be located?
So re-decorating is kind of like pregnancy and childbirth – not a whole lotta fun while you’re going through it but oh! the memories and the end result!

“The first official party”—I’m not sure all of us will fit in your living room at the same time. 😉

Total Chaos! Love the picture of the dining room with Astro standing on a drop cloth that looks like it was supplied by Jackson Pollock. Was wondering how things were going with the lounge.
