Happy 10th birthday, Retro Renovation!

Pam Kueber - Updated: October 26, 2017

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

Yup, today is the 10th birthday of the blog. My first story was, predictably, about a toilet. Over the next few days and weeks, I’ll be doing some looks back. But for today, well, I’m gonna think about everything. And hey, I’ll welcome some well wishes!

Happy 10th Anniversary to you! I’ve been following your website since your first month “on the air”. It came along at the right time for me, because everything you’re passionate about is my passion. I would never have been able to restore my house inside and out with the correct period vibe, if not for your articles, sources, and inspiration! I have sent numerous people to your site, because there are so many people out there who want to do the right thing with their home, but don’t know where to begin.
I wish you continued success and all the best! Once again, I thank you for all you do for us Mid-Century Retro-renovators!

Congratulations to you ,Pam and Kate, on your success and longevity. I think I found you in a little blurb in a magazine in early 2015 and signed up for the newsletter. As with many, any day that goes by without a check-in to see what’s new in old leaves a little blank when there’s no entry. Extended periods, be it the weekend or vacation/news gathering, feel like eons. Are we being dramatic? Only if you don’t believe a tiny ray of sunshine in a gloomy world is dramatic.
We don’t know what it’s like to have and maintain a blog so we don’t fully appreciate what you do. During your downtime, I’ve gone back to fill in the gap or I’ve gotten notices that someone made a new comment. But those that are jam-packed with hundreds are difficult to elbow in to. When you re-run some posts, could you clear off the previous comments for us to chime in?
Lastly…I’m not the only one who’s noticed and it was said in just the last few days – when we research ANYthing related to Mid-Century, far and away Retro Renovation is THE source for information.
Cheers to you, Retro Renovation Nation! And here’s to many (as you like) more!

Pam, thank you so much for your work and dedication to retro Renovation! I’ve been a loyal reader since I found your blog 8.5 years ago. I had just bought my first (and current) house which happened to be built in 1950. Checking for the new blog post is a highlight in my morning routine so much that I miss it on the weekends. I have learned appreciation for the style, work, values, and approach to design of past generations. Your blog has been greatly influential to me. THANK YOU!
