Old Mother Hubbard’s cupboard surely had shelves and drawers wallpapered in whimsical vintage wallpaper — just like one of these four new/old designs from Bradbury & Bradbury Art Wallpaper now being reproduced based on original document designs in their archives. My favorite (at this moment) is Miss Mouse. Wallpaper for Miss Mouse’s house!
Above: Sleeping Beauty has, appropriately, a dreamy look to it. I am not an expert in identifying all styles, but I am thinking this is in the style of William Morris.
Old King Cole is pretty fun, too. Hey, I might put it above wainscoting in a dining room. All this fun can’t only be for children.
Bradbury & Bradbury told me these papers are machine (digitally) printed. The company also introduced three children’s designs in cowboy themes. I’ll take a look tomorrow 🙂

Hi Pam! Away in the Meadow sings to my soul! Our son and daughter shared a bedroom until they were 7 and 8 years old, respectively. I would have loved to have that darling paper back then. Decorating their bedroom was a challenge; searching out bright but neutral wall colors, curtains with childhood gender-neutral whimsy, bedding, etc. Away in the Meadow would have been perfect!
Last summer, my daughter updated her 2-year-old son’s room from nursery to child. One wall in his room has a dormer with a deep window seat and a large corner closet. She wallpapered the wall, dormer and the wall connected by the corner closet with the Gnome pattern of Bradbury and Bradbury wallpaper and painted the rest accordingly. She also had window coverings and a window seat cushion made from a coordinating fabric purchased from Spoonflower…too cute to stand!

Sleeping Beauty is so subtle it could go in just about any room before someone noticed all of the motif.

Love these vintage kids’ wallpapers! This sent me on a quest for images of my brother’s and my childhood wallpapers. I found his, but not mine.
