Tara Young of etsy.com profiles animal photographer Sharon Montrose — magic!

pam kueber - Updated: July 20, 2010

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

This video is not retro — but it’s magical, thanks to photographer Sharon Montrose, whose work is featured, and to Tara Young, who created the video. Tara also did the video about me and Retro Renovation that appeared earlier this year on etsy.com. She is so talented, I love to watch — and share — everything that she creates.

Taking good photos of animals isn’t easy. It’s even tougher when u try and dress them up. Nice video.

Hey, there was retro – did you see the Saarinen tulip table & chairs behind her? Beautiful photos from an unassuming, talented pro!

This was very informative- I admire what Sharon said about how to do what you love as a business but also keeping the passion for doing something you love. Her pictures are wonderful and now when I see animals ads, they might be Sharon’s! Also Tara’s video was wonderful-she has a way of capturing the inner joy and enthusiasm of the person she’s filming and bringing it to the viewer. 🙂

Really beautiful. I had to watch it twice – not only for the breathtaking shots of the animals but also for Ms. Montrose’s wonderful and thought provoking advice on how to do something that you love.

Kelly, I totally agree with you about listening closely to the advice about how to try to do something you love as a business!

Pam, I have loved Sharon’s work for some time now. The photos are so simple and just speak to you. Seeing this, I appreciate her even more, it’s her passion flowing from her photos, not just the adorable animals. Thanks for sharing this, she’s the type of person you just want to hang out with…easy and real. I love having that knowledge about her, it gives more meaning to her photos. A good way to start my Friday morning…
