I have a 1950 Deluxe Tappan Stove, I was wondering if anyone can give me a model# for it. My plate is gone with this info & I an in need of orificies[propane to natural gas], as well as a new knob. Every place I check has to have the model#[which I don’t have] to order. The space that has 235? Vintage pics shows my stove on pic #91, labeled T3s Tappan. Can anyone help?

We have a circa 1940 or so kitchen in our Sears house from the 20s. We love the Chambers stove and metal cabinets but are looking desperately for a through wall exhaust fan. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I may be able to find something like that?
Thanks!

We have a story on this. Use the search box – Nutone fan. You can buy them new, and then buy a chrome-like cover as an accessory item. Otherwise: Watch ebay. They come up about one every two weeks.

My Saarinen table is chipped along the table sides, plus along the bottom where chairs have bumped for years. Can I repaint a Saarinen product? Special paint? Please help.

I picked up a tan and tutone vinyl (chocolate and tan) arm chair from the Royal Metal Manufacturing Co. for $5. Lable is intact and says ‘since ’97 though it looks to be much older. The vinyl is in excellent condition but the metal is worn here and there. Wondering how old and wondering if spray painting is ok. Thank you.

Sounds like around the time when this style of chair was being sold by Target again…

I have been putting my Pomona Tile collection in better order. I have several tiles and other odds and ends – but the star is that I have most of the 16 reel View Master marketing set (sort of an early “Powerpoint”). I am missing reels 5-9, but have posted my digital images of 12-16 on Flickr. I will post the rest over time.
There are many interesting pictures of how MCM buildings should use tile. Colors may be a bit off – but the images generally reference the color name or color code.
The picture you have of the green sink that has been re-porcelained is the EXACT sink (from what I can see) that I had stolen last night. Any idea who has one of these?? I believe it was 66 inches wide… even slightly smaller would work, but I am desperate to replace ASAP!!
Doesn’t anybody have a yellow and gray tiled bathroom, circa 1950?!

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one, but of course that could have been a combo. What are you looking for, exactly?

Would it be blasphemous for me to hang a wall cabinet above the toilet in my very small original yellow and gray 1950’s bathroom? I need storage!!
pam kuebersays
No, I don’t think so. I would not want a cabinet that is too deep, though. There is something skary about having something protruding over your head when you are … seated.

I am need of some plastic bathroom wall tiles. I happen to have the cover of one of the boxes the tile came in. The color is Malibu Pink #9058. The tiles were made by Homart (Sears). They are a pink/coral color with light swirls in them. I grouted my bathroom plastic tile with an adhesive grout from Home Depot so now the shower is water tight. Most people who use my bathroom do not notice that the tiles are plastic and not ceramic. Unfortunately, the former owner of the house splashed something on the tiles around the sink and I cannot get out the stains. I need about 50 tiles but will take whatever I can get.

I have a handful of the 4.25X4.25 Frosty Pink, #9158, which is darn close. It may have come in at a later date as a variant of the Malibu Pink. Let me know if you want me to send you one to see.
Keep watching eBay for any pink tiles, and you will eventually find them.

Oh, and you can see the color on my pink bathroom by searching the site for “Mary Elizabeth’s pink bathroom.”
