I have purchased two sets of metal upper cabinets with white trimmed in black enamel doors, with clear glass knobs Three sets of doors per cabinets. I have looked for them on the web but have found nothing. They came out of a very old house. One of them has a square on top maybe 6 x 6″. I was told since it doesn’t go through the top of cabinet that it could have been for a lamp. There is an opening from the square on the back of square maybe for air. Anyway, do you know how old these might be. I can send pictures from my phone. I am trying to redo them. These two cabinets I purchased were removed from the home and put in an old garage and used for junk. The doors are really good the cabinet needs lots of work, rusted. Anyway any information you have or suggestion on where I can find info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Debbie, impossible to guess without seeing. See all of our research on vintage steel kitchen cabinets here — https://retrorenovation.com/category/kitchen/steel-kitchen-cabinets/

If you want to show us photos, please post them somewhere online (flickr, etc) then post a link.

I purchased a home which has Harmony House kitchen cabinets, enamel/metal with wood grain vaneer faces on the doors and drawers. It also has a small island counter. Counter tops are yellow enamel. Can you suggest a value? All in excellent condition.

I have lived in old homes my entire 58 years and have never seen the window locks that my 1952 rancher has… anyone ever seen a “Silente” lock? It’s solid brass, has a lever and flips up when unlocked. Not sure how to add a photo to explain, but have never seen anything like them…

My ranch house has decorative diamond shaped window grids that are on the outside of the windows. most are missing and some broken. Do you know of anywhere that you can get these?

Nancy, we do not sell anything here. See our stories/research about where to get vintage colors toilets in our Bathroom Help / Toilets subcategory. It’s there, right at the top.

I WONDER IF YOUR CABINET HAS A THIN HORIZONTAL BAR, SCREWED INTO THE WALL THAT YOUR CABINET SLIDES DOWN ONTO TO HOLD IT UP. IF THAT MAKES SENSE. Then you would firmly push up on the cabinet to release it.
