Win a “Love the House You’re In” collage featuring your house

pam kueber - Updated: May 6, 2021

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

[Contest now closed] Carlos was the lucky winner of our Love The House You’re In collage last month — that’s his lovely mid mod, above. This month’s contest runs through Sept. 30 — read on for the rules — and for the opportunity to win a custom collage by our collage artist laureate Mel Kolstad featuring you and your house.

To enter, complete these two steps:

  1. Leave a comment on this post answering the question: So how did you find RetroRenovation.com? I’m always curious to know….
  2. And, subscribe to my newsletter. Yes, this helps me build my newsletter list… I send ’em out just once a week, usually.

Please read all the rules here before entering, they all apply. I’ll pick a reader the last day of the month — so there’s a lot of time to do some crucial ice cream taste testing, as required, to make sure you leave an answer for the ages that’s just right.

Meanwhile — thanks to Mel for another fabulous collage. Here’s what she says about this creation:

I used a slat-effect on this one – the “siding” is hand cut and placed.  I used all watercolors this time for the landscaping, each one layered individually to make the collage more dimensional.  I used the alcohol ink windows again – I really like how that works!

You can find Mel’s collage works on flickr and her blog, Much Ado About Stuff.

We moved into a funky 60’s swiss chalet style house in woodsy Topanga. I love your website, we love our house and would LOVE a “Love the House You are in Collage”.

I found you on Facebook, we have a Southern Bayou Cottage style house built about 1923, we love it and it still has most of the art-deco style lighting and fixtures…including the metal washboard style sink, I LOVE your site for ideas on decorating and keeping it as close to vintage and the era as I can…..we also own a small vintage upcycle jewelry company, so I love estate sales etc and look forward to your links and treasures!!! Thanks

After showing the listing of my (now) house to a friend she flipped over the pink tile bathroom and directed me to savethepinkbathrooms.com from which I found my way here. I’d love to have you all over so you can tell me what to do with my ’61. The kitchen has me at a loss with it’s dark wood cabinets and carpeted floors.
